Well, after everyone was so excited to hear Grace (and, by the way, the last post was only text), we decided it was time for Grace to make her film debut. With a week and a half of filming under our belts, we finally have some good footage!

Grace is learning to do new things and improving her motor skills every day. Not only can she talk and laugh, but she reaches to grab things and is now sometimes successful! She loves to grab the quilt above her changing pad, actually plays with the toys under her gym, and can even hold and shake her own rattle.  She also loves bathtime, especially the kicking and splashing part. Daddy’s girl may just turn out to be our little swimmer!

She continues to amaze us with all of her new tricks.  Most recently she even rolled over!  Although it was only once, and most likely accidental…as proud parents we are claiming it anyway.

Even just watching these videos as we make this post it makes us laugh and our hearts smile.  We can’t wait to see what we can catch her doing next!

We are certainly having fun with each new day. Grace, Geoff and I are looking forward to seeing family and friends again soon so that you all can see her in action!

Grace has been capturing our hearts the last few days with more than her smile. She has started cooing at everything–Mommy, Daddy, grandparents, the animals under her play gym, the bee above her changing pad, and even the ceiling fan!  She seems to have a lot to say, so maybe she takes after Mommy!

Just as we became excited to hear Grace’s voice, she amazed us again with her first laugh. Daddy was trying to keep her entertained and in good spirits before bedtime by playing some silly games with her. As he raised her arms above her head, she squealed and laughed twice. It was a beautiful sound that we can’t wait to hear again.

July 7th marked Grandpa Janes’ 60th birthday, a great reason to celebrate.  So Mom and sons put together a birthday party to celebrate the occasion.  Many of Dad’s friends and coworkers attended, both to celebrate Dad’s 60th but also Mom & Dad’s 40th wedding anniversary.  A few additional pics can be found in the gallery.

So as a gift for Dad & Mom, we decided it was about time to update our family pictures.  We hadn’t had them taken since both Greg and I were in high school – yeah I know, back in the stone age! 

And of course being the photo-centric family that we are, we decided to attempt to take them ourselves with the assistance of the Bubba Photo Studios.

At the conclusion of the 2 hour photo shoot, we had managed to snap 750 pictures.    From those 750, we picked a smattering of our favorites, all of which can be found in the gallery.

But not all pictures were as good as our favorites.  Grace, although she was quite good, did make the process much more challenging.  Here’s a few of our favorite bloopers:

So, with all of that, we’d all like to wish Dad a happy birthday, and Mom and Dad a happy 40th!  We couldn’t have been blessed with better parents, and Grace couldn’t be luckier to have them as grandparents.
